Reflective Practice

Reflection is essential as a teacher. It is an excellent route to career progression and development. It is important to reflect directly after lesson and evaluate one’s teaching as it may trigger an idea for the next lesson. Reflecting on a weekly basis gives one time to organise the events and happenings of the week. Looking towards academic research can help strengthen reflections and sometimes even help to find a solution. Evaluations and weekly reflections over a period of time led to data for my research project. The research project developed a deep reflective practice for me regarding my own teaching strategies. Reflecting over a longer time can help one to identify more prolonged issues or ones that are just difficult to recognise.

Here are a selection of weekly reflections on a variety of topics.
