Digital Media
As part of the Professional Master of Education, workshops were provided in digital media. These workshops were an excellent way of learning because I had a chance to learn through doing and making. I gained skills in photoshop, animation and video-making. These skills are essential in a modern-day classroom. Acquiring a bank of digital skills has made my teaching more engaging for students and relevant to their lives.
Photoshop
In this workshop, I made the house out of cardboard, photographed it and on photoshop, cut around it and layered it onto a different background. This type of project would be suitable to a classroom to help students improve their computer and digital literacy skills, while still requiring creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Animation
Creating an animation was very exciting to learn, and surprisingly easy! To start, I made the stage and characters from a variety of materials and developed a story-line. I made my animation using Microsoft Movie Maker. This is a free software and widely accessible to schools.
Video-making
This workshop began by creating a fantasy invention. The invention acted as a stimulus to create a storyline for an advert to sell the product. We did this project in groups and while this may seem like a bit of a comedy, there is some really solid skills learned in terms of camera work, editing and presenting, not to mention some acting!
